SIGEP China -Southern China's International Expo dedicated to the production of Gelato,Bakery & Coffee Concludes Successfully!

SIGEP China-Southern China's International Expo dedicated to the production of Gelato, Bakery & Coffee Exhibition successfully concluded on May 12, 2023. The exhibition featured over 100 global brands, occupying an exhibition area of 35,000 square meters, and was witnessed by 25,703 trade visitors. The event offered an opportunity for professionals from different sectors, including brand owners, professional buyers, global experts and chefs, to explore the field of gelato, bakery, pastry and coffee. It was accompanied by the first international exhibition strategically positioned for the food and beverage market in South China, ANUFOOD China.

Inheriting from SIGEP-The Dolce World Expo organized by Italian Exhibition Group in Rimini-Italy, a leading B2B exhibition for Gelato, desserts, bakery products and the coffee and hospitality industry for over 40 years, SIGEP China was officially launched in the Chinese market this year. It brought  a 360-degree visual and taste experience to the South China and Greater Bay Area markets and showcased the latest innovation in technology and food design visions.

At the opening ceremony, the Managing Director of Koelnmesse Co., Ltd., Mr. Keith Tsui delivered the opening speech. He expressed his excitement to hold such a sweet event in a city full of vitality and a bright future, and believed that this encounter with the Chinese market will be the most anticipated one.

Ms. Flavia Morelli, the Group Exhibition Manager of Italian Exhibition Group indicated, “SIGEP China is the first step for the internationalization of this project. We are honored to start from China, which is also Italy’s most important overseas export market. Italy and China have many similarities. Both countries have a long history of baking and cooking culture and share an innovative belief in food. We believe that SIGEP China will prove its success in Shenzhen.”

To better complement with the industry’s concerted focus on the entire food and beverage industry chain and provide a more comprehensive display and immersive interactive experience for exhibitors and industry trade visitors, the exhibition also featured a number of exciting events, including accompanying professional conferences, the Gelato World Cup (Chinese Region selection), the Coffee Art Championship, and the Fun Brewing Competition.

Gelato World Cup, a world-renowned top-level contest for handmade ice cream, organized by Gelato&Cultura in partnership with Italian Exhibition Group, has finally landed in the South China market with the first SIGEP China 2023. Gelato masters from various sectors gathered at the highly anticipated Gelato World Cup (China Region Selection) competition. After fierce competition, the event concluded successfully on May 12. The competition showcased the most creative, ornamental, and delicious works with a variety of projects, dazzling gelato techniques, and exquisite skills. The event not only inspired the creativity of the contestants but also promoted their exchange and friendship. The winning team  will represent China in the 10th edition of Gelato World Cup in Italy which will be held from 20th to 24 January 2024 at the 45th edition of SIGEP-The Dolce World Expo at Rimini Expo Centre, where they will compete with the world's top gelato and pastry chefs.

The organizers welcome the world to the next year edition of the show on April 17-19, 2024.
